HOLIDAYS AT SAIDIA'S SWIMMING STATION
For lovers of beaches, sunbathing and water sports: Saidia in northern Morocco is becoming the most popular seaside resort in the Mediterranean. The so-called blue pearl of the Mediterranean promises holidaymakers unforgettable holidays in a setting that combines elegance and contemporary comfort while keeping its Moroccan character
We visited for the first time Saidia and its surroundings with a group of Moroccan bloggers on the occasion of a blogtrip organized by the in partnership with. I admit that we would not have discovered this destination otherwise, since we tend to avoid tourist stays organized in vacation mode. But once is not customary, we decided to play the game. Within a few days, we trade our goretex jackets and our trekking shoes for flower shirts and stiletto heels. May the holidays in Saidia begin
In Amazigh, we call Saidia "Ajroud" (poetry). If the hinterland still retains its poetic side, the coast has metamorphosed into a colossal resort where jostle all-inclusive resorts and luxury real estate projects. The 45-hectare 18-hole golf course was designed by the talented Spanish architect Francisco Segales. The marina, one of the largest in the Mediterranean, welcomes yachts and other pleasure boats, and offers all summer water activities, playgrounds and recreation for children and adults, and even a cinema in full inspired by American drives. Water sports enthusiasts are not lacking. The jetski, wakeboard, and parasailing guarantee a maximum of thrills, while the towed banana guarantees a maximum of crazy laughs. WHAT TO DO IN SAIDIA? FARNIENTE ON THE BEACH OF SAIDIA With its 14km belt of fine sand hemming the clear waters of the Mediterranean, it is easy to find its little piece of paradise on the vast expanses of sand of Saidia. On the other hand, every summer, the beaches are taken by storm by the Moroccan tourists residing abroad. To better enjoy the pleasures of the sea in all tranquility, it is better to avoid the high season in July-August. Fortunately, we visited Saidia in September. There are still several wild beaches that have escaped major real estate projects that encroach more and more on protected areas of the coast. You just have to venture out of the resorts to discover these little hidden treasures
WATER ACTIVITIES
There is something for everyone. Motorized water activities include jetskiing, wakeboarding, water skiing, and towed banana. For lovers of great blue, we offer sailing trips, sea cruises in monohulls or catamarans, fishing trips, or a sport ride in sea kayaking or stand-up paddle. Funny Moment # 1: Mike had more fun doing parasailing than jumping off a plane or bungee. The expression on his face was priceless. Suspended at our parachute a few tens of meters from the water, we could admire the golden sand belt that winds the coast. Funny Moment # 2: Too much to share on social networks, almost all our traveling companions have suffered a big seasickness. Those who did not vomit all their guts then joined us for a crazy banana ride towed. Lesson learned: Smartphones in boat is a no no
GOLF INITIATION
Who says seaside resort says golf. The instructors of Golf Med Saidia have been particularly patient and educational with our group of golfing apprentices. Only Mike stood out with his perfect swings. You guessed it, what I particularly like about golf, are the strolls through kilometers of green strewn with bodies of water. Our golf initiation was quickly transformed into a kart slalom. Fun! For golf enthusiasts, the 18-hole course offers a remarkable variety of play, and professional tournaments are held annually
BIKE RIDING ON THE CORNICE
The seafront ledge of Saidia is 6 km long and is a walking area for jogging, walking and cycling. You can rent bikes everywhere along the cornice. The bike paths continue in the heart of the city winding the shops and restaurants of summer vacationers and villagers
ANIMATIONS AND DINNER AT THE MARINA
In the evening, everyone converges at the Marina, one of the largest in the Mediterranean. With its 800 mooring rings where yachts, sailboats and catamarans are exposed, it's almost like being in the French Riviera. The restaurants of the marina offer treats of fish and freshly caught seafood. We feasted at the table of El Puerto
NIGHTLIFE IN THE RESORTS
We will not lie to you. Resorts are not our cup of tea at all. Especially since in this kind of tourist complexes, the animations are of a legendary kitsch. But if you are big fans of the Macarena, we will not judge you. It takes everything to make a world
