We tested: the Sofitel Essaouira Mogador golf & spa
During our stay in Essaouira we had the chance to stay at the Sofitel Essaouira, a magnificent 5-star hotel located in a sumptuous natural setting, bordering the Atlantic Ocean, and 10 minutes drive from the medina. The ideal place to put your suitcases, to escape in love for a long weekend, breathe the sea air, discover this wonderful region of Morocco and enjoy
Actually it is more than a hotel, we could speak here of a high-end resort dedicated to well-being and golf. There is the main building with 150 rooms and 28 private villas located around the golf course. Upon our arrival we were seduced by the lobby of the hotel, very spacious, elegant, beautifully and harmoniously decorated with a subtle blend of local inspirations and a contemporary touch
The heart of this large green wall at the foot of which there is a small lounge where you can enjoy at any time of the day an excellent mint tea prepared before your eyes. A grand reception! In the extension of the main hall we discover this large statue of hippopotamus bright red and behind there are stairs that lead us to the huge outdoor pool of the hotel
Our bedroom
What marks us every time we discover a Sofitel is this absolutely wonderful bedding with incomparable comfort. It feels like a cloud, happiness ... At the end of each stay we promise to afford the bed MyBed Sofitel for the apartment ... A day maybe! From the bed we had an unobstructed panoramic view of the green spaces of the hotel with the natural pool in the foreground and the wild spaces in the background with the ocean as far as the eye can see. At sunset, it's magic
Just like the hall and the different universes of the hotel, the decoration of the room is very pleasant. Amongst others, there is tadelakt flooring, bright colors, decorative objects and quality furniture. The bathroom is located in the bedroom, separated from the bed by sliding wooden partitions, and the bathtub is not one in fact! It is rather a small stone basin covered with beautiful mosaics of a bright blue, and in any case it is large enough to take a bath for two
Breakfast
A varied, tasty breakfast, balanced with the possibility of being prepared omelets, scrambled eggs or oriental crepes. There are delicious pastries, a wide variety of fruit juices, and plenty of fresh produce (fruits, vegetables, cold meats, yogurt, etc ...) The essential step to start your day at the Sofitel. And to give a good conscience we will do a few laps in the pool located next door
Pools and gardens
You can enjoy the two beautiful pools of Sofitel Essaouira (including one that is natural) surrounded by beds, hammocks and deckchairs for lounging. Stroll in this large area and enjoy these natural landscapes swept by the ocean. Continue a little along the golf course and you will arrive at the sand dunes through which you reach the wild beach. A nice walk to do early in the morning or at sunset to enjoy a beautiful light
The Sofitel Essaouira Spa
Make yourself happy, relax and let yourself be pampered by the professionals of the SPA Cinq Monde who will provide you with relaxing treatments and make you live a beautiful experience in this captivating place
We have not tested the Spa because the entrance fee is even for hotel guests, which is a shame because the access to the steam room and the heated pool costs € 15. Knowing that there are several pools in the hotel and that we had already done care two days earlier in Marrakech we preferred the outdoor pools
