Visit Chefchaouen in 2 days | the practical mini guide
This blue dream ... I do not believe it is wonderful! Ah ah, I had to do it to you right? Well this time I take you to visit Chefchaouen, a wonderful place to discover during your future trip to Morocco

I was there last June for a mini roadtrip a week to discover Tangier, Chefchaouen, Casablanca and Marrakech

This is at least the 7th or 8th time I come on a trip to Morocco and I am still amazed by all these contrasts. Just a hundred kilometers to see new landscapes, enjoy new cuisine, hear other accents, observe new styles of architecture, in short, there are several countries in the kingdom of Morocco
I had heard a lot about this blue city, not to mention the many photos I've seen in recent years; I absolutely had to go there at least once to visit Chefchaouen

I stayed only two days on the spot, but I regret not having prolonged the stay to better savor every moment in Chefchaouen and take the time to appreciate the city as a whole: the art of living, its inhabitants, to stroll quietly in the alleys, go to the market, etc

How to get to Chefchaouen
There are several ways to integrate Chefchaouen into your travel itinerary

I did Marseille / Tangier with a Ryanair flight less than 100 € per person

I took the CTM bus that connects Tangier - Chefchaouen

Duration of the bus trip: 2h45

You can buy the tickets on the TCM website and it takes about 5 € per person + 1 € the luggage in the hold of the bus. The buses are comfortable, air-conditioned, secure, but remember to book early because the places are selling quickly

If you do not want to take the lead and enjoy a little longer in Morocco, you can also book your stay on sites like Private Travel, the offers are often very interesting

Then, in addition to the trip, you organize your own tour of a few days by bus, train or car in the region of Morocco that you want to discover
A good alternative for those who want to relax at first and then discover a region of the country by making an autonomous circuit
Where to sleep in Chefchaouen
You will find many small hotels, guest houses but no 4-star hotels ... Well, if there is one but that is not beautiful at all

Nothing like choosing a small boutique hotel like the one I stayed in, Dar Zambra. The room is ok, there is a small bathroom with shower, but I especially had a crush on the beautiful rooftop terrace from which we can enjoy a beautiful view of the roofs of Chefchaouen

What to see and do in Chefchaouen
Once you have set your bags, lose yourself in this labyrinth of blue streets, take your time and do not hesitate to leave the main axes, away from the tourist shops to soak up more of the local atmosphere and the Art of living

You too will be amazed by these beautiful houses full of charm, with multiple shades of blue. A postcard decor! By the way, did you know that these unique Chefchaouen houses were painted in blue to repel insects and especially mosquitoes

During these two days in Chefchaouen I had to do at least 3 times the tour of the old town, which is not so great in the end, but we get lost quite easily

Whatever happens you will spend several times a day in the central square of the medina, Uta el-Hammam square, a place where people and tourists often gather

There are many cafes where it is nice to sit on the terrace. Around the square, there is the big mosque and the Kasbah that can be visited

At the end of the day, take the height to admire the sunset and drink a mint tea while lulled by the call to prayer of the muezzin. Just to rethink, I have chills

You can also go to the Spanish mosque, located about twenty minutes walk towards the Ras-el-Ma waterfall. The view of the blue city of Chefchaouen is just as beautiful
